FMAP and Teacher Job Funding Added to FAA Bill

Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., added an amendment to a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) bill that includes $10 billion for teaching jobs and $16.1 billion in state Medicaid funding for the Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (FMAP) program. The amendment will be paid for through cuts to the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) and by ending loopholes in foreign tax credits. The Senate is expected to vote on the measure on Monday.
